Air Libya

Air Libya is a privately owned airline based in Benghazi, Libya. It was established in 1996 as Tibesti Air Libya and was initially based in Tripoli. The company now operates charter flights in support of oil field operations, as well as providing some scheduled and ad-hoc charter services. Its main base is Benina International Airport, Benghazi^[1].

Destinations

Air Libya operates the following scheduled services:

• Domestic scheduled destinations: Benghazi, Kufra, Sabha, Tobruk
• International scheduled destinations: El Fasher, Sudan; Alexandria, Egypt; Agades, Niger; N'djamena, Chad

Fleet

The Air Libya fleet includes the following aircraft (as of 7 May 2011 (2011 -05-07)^[update]) [1]:

• 5 Antonov An-140
• 1 BAe 146-300 (operated on behalf of Free Libyan Air Force for medical evacuation and medical supplies delivery)^[2]
• 2 Boeing 727-200
• 5 Yakovlev Yak-40 (1 reportedly destroyed and 1 damaged by fire in Benghazi Airport due to the Libyan uprising)
• 1 Pilatus PC-6
• 1 De Havilland Canada Dash 6 - Twin Otter
• 1 Boeing 737-200 (destroyed in Benghazi Airport due to the Libyan uprising)
